Peter Kearney (Chairman)

Peter has over 40 years’ experience in senior consulting, tax and executive positions in Australia, England and the USA. Originally qualifying in accounting and tax, Peter has been admitted to various taxation bodies and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He advises many companies across Australia and not-for-profit organisations in the areas of entity structure, tax matters, asset protection, strategic planning and succession planning.

Peter provided advice to Safe Places Community Services for many years before joining the Board in 2015.

Anthony Thompson (Director)

Anthony has over 30 years’ experience in senior executive, consulting and company director roles in Australia, Asia, UK, Europe and the USA. Originally qualifying in engineering, Anthony subsequently completed an MBA and further qualifications in corporate governance and safety and risk management.

In 2005 with two others, Anthony was one of the founders of Safe Places for Children – which now operates around Australia and in the UK.

Anthony currently serves as a Director for a number of companies across Australia and Asia. He also spends time coaching C suite management and directors across private and government organisations.

Brad Peel (Director)

Brad has more than 15 years’ experience in institutional and investment banking roles advising clients on financial risk management and accessing global capital markets. Brad manages capital raisings in global markets for blue chip Australian corporations on behalf of the National Australia Bank having held similar positions with Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, Westpac, and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Brad joined the Safe Places board in May 2017.

Brad holds a Bachelor of Business degree from the University of Queensland.

Siena Perry (Director)

For over 15 years, Siena has successfully held leadership roles in Australia and internationally in the strategic communication, issues and change management, and engagement space, with a focus on not-for-profit organisations. She previously served as the deputy chair of Synapse Australia, a national disability services organisation. Siena currently works for an Asia Pacific Internet governance and development organisation, and in the past has advised on strategic communication for the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation, the University of Queensland, Suncorp Group, Queensland Government Department of Premier and Cabinet, and Surf Life Saving Foundation, among others. Siena holds a BA and a Masters of Communication.

Errol Barr (Director)

Errol has a Bachelor of Business degree and over 30 years’ experience across a diverse range of industries including manufacturing, mining services, mining, and agriculture. He is a qualified executive with a rich background that encompasses various roles within implementation of business systems (ERP & CRM), commercial management with responsibility for pricing, contract review and negotiation as well as application of process, systems and technology to support business growth, to name a few. Errol has held senior commercial management roles in numerous companies and is currently CFO for a publicly listed gold miner and privately owned food manufacturer.
